Of Technical Signals
❦
◆ Technical view · 2 October

Thursday's close placed Bitcoin at $84,880.05, a gain of 1.5 per cent from Wednesday's $83,623.60, accompanied by net inflows into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds of $103mn on the 1st of October, with net flows across all crypto ETFs reaching $45mn. The relationship between the two figures merits a moment's consideration. Where Wednesday's session recorded outflows of $149mn against a price that barely moved, Thursday reversed the terms: institutional capital returned, and the price followed. The quarterly boundary that made Wednesday's outflows conspicuous has now, it appears, been cleared.

The momentum readings across the survey at Thursday's close remain orderly and some distance from extension. Bitcoin's RSI stood at 64.8, some 2.5 per cent from overbought ground — closer to that threshold than any other asset surveyed save Ether, which closed at $2,706.42 with a momentum reading of 64.0. TRX, closing at $0.3348, retained its characteristic quietude: momentum at 46.2, with resistance at $0.3376 a mere 0.8 per cent above that close.

The sentiment barometer, at 54 out of 100, holds to neutral ground.
