Of Technical Signals
❦
◆ Technical view · 6 October

Monday's session closed with a configuration that, for the first time in several days, registered an outflow rather than an inflow. Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded net flows of minus $90mn on the 5th of October, with net flows across all crypto ETFs reaching minus $118mn — yet at Monday's close Bitcoin held at $85,766.87, only 0.4 per cent below Sunday's $86,530.00. Institutional participants withdrew capital; the price conceded almost nothing in return.

The momentum reading at Monday's close stood at 64.6, leaving Bitcoin 2.5 per cent from overbought ground — a margin that has narrowed and widened across this survey without the threshold being breached. The regulatory backdrop appears to have shifted perceptibly, with commentary turning towards a more permissive posture on certain surveillance obligations, and leveraged exchange-traded funds receiving clearance for trading. Whether those developments sustain the buying resolve that ETF flows have otherwise demonstrated is not yet legible in the figures.

Ether closed at $2,709.98 with momentum at 61.5. TRX, at $0.3361, remains the most compressed reading in the survey: resistance at $0.3376 — a level tested twice — lies a mere 0.4 per cent above Monday's close.
