On the financial press agenda this week: macroeconomics · Bitcoin · geopolitical tensions · monetary policy · tech stocks.

◆ Verdict · Friday 9 October session
Bullish conviction.
Bitcoin draws $21mn as its price rises 0.20%: conviction holds. Among altcoins, flows remain cautious (−0.61% to +1.46%).
◆ Technical view · 10 October
Friday's session delivered what a fortnight of compression had withheld: a reversal in the relationship between institutional flows and price. Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded net inflows of $21mn on Friday the 9th of October, even as net flows across all crypto ETFs reached minus $39mn — and at Friday's close, Bitcoin stood at $82,635.55, its momentum reading of 50.4 leaving it a bare 0.1 per cent above the mid-range threshold of 50. The price slipped further even as Bitcoin-specific demand ticked positive, a divergence that echoes the pattern this survey documented in early October, though with the roles of asset and aggregate now reversed.
The broader market offers little in the way of counterweight. Ether closed Friday's session at $2,487.70 with momentum at 39.0, now 6.1 per cent from oversold ground — its closest approach to that threshold in this survey, and a marked deterioration from the 45.3 recorded on Wednesday. Solana, at $109.13 with an RSI of 42.7, retains its three-times-tested support at $81.39, which lies 25.4 per cent below Friday's close.
TRX, at a Friday close of $0.3319, has at last drawn within 0.4 per cent of its four-times-tested resistance at $0.3331 — a proximity that has persisted across this survey without resolution, and which now represents the most compressed configuration in the reading. The sentiment barometer, at 49 out of 100, has retreated to its weakest footing yet.

Reader's note
Technical data computed from Binance USDT pairs. Ranks come from the CoinMarketCap ranking. Some major cryptocurrencies not listed on Binance may be missing from this ranking.
RSI 14 Momentum indicator computed over 14 periods using Wilder's method. Above 70, the asset is considered overbought; below 30, oversold.
P Abbreviation used in column headers for “Price” (the current price). A standard financial convention (P/E ratio, P/B ratio, etc.).
$0.0ₙ XYZ Compact notation for sub-cent values (CoinMarketCap / DexScreener style). The subscript ₙ counts the consecutive zeros after the decimal point, followed by the first four significant digits. Example: $0.0₅5780 = $0.000005780 (five zeros, then 5780).
Support A price level where buyers have historically regained control. A support tested several times is considered well established.
Resistance A level where sellers have historically prevailed. A break through it often marks a change of trend worth watching.
MA50/200 Price position relative to its 50-day (short-term) and 200-day (long-term) moving averages. ▲▲ price above both: uptrend confirmed. ▼▲ below the MA50 but above the MA200: correction within an uptrend. ▲▼ above the MA50 but below the MA200: rebound within a downtrend. ▼▼ below both: downtrend confirmed. ▲- or ▼-: MA200 unavailable (history too short), only the MA50 position is shown.
P vs MA20 Percentage gap between the current price (P for Price) and its 20-day moving average (about one month). The MA20 also serves as the middle line of the Bollinger Bands (default settings), which ties this indicator to the reading of volatility. A short-term momentum gauge that complements the RSI and the MA50/200 regime. ▲ +X%: price above its MA20, positive momentum. ▼ −X%: price below its MA20, negative momentum.
Timeframe 1D Each candle represents one trading day. A scale suited to medium-term trend analysis.
